Uncovering the Past

We uncover the truth in ordinary lives and share stories rooted in memory, emotion, and legacy.

John’s Role

John brings experience, discipline, and a love of storytelling to J Wilson Books. Working alongside Janice, he learned through Jack’s Story how to balance his father’s handwritten letters with official Army records — a process that taught him the craft of nonfiction writing and the importance of precision in preserving history.

His professional background adds depth to that work. John built a career in technology, selling computer systems to corporations such as MetLife, AT&T, and JP Morgan/Chase. He went on to found two software companies and advised early-stage ventures, gaining the leadership and project skills he now applies to writing and publishing.

Janice’s Role

Janice is the strategist and architect of our shared vision. With decades in software engineering at IBM, Citrix, and Sun Microsystems, she brings clarity, innovation, and structure to J Wilson Books. She’s also the voice behind our travel blog, Travels with John and Janice, where she captures life’s adventures with warmth, wit, and wonder.

Her career has been as pioneering as it was impactful. At IBM, she led engineering teams that advanced speech recognition and partnered with Apple on the Newton, a forerunner to the iPhone. Beyond technology, Janice is a dedicated amateur golfer, competing in USGA Mid-Am and Senior national events.

Bringing Stories to Life

We bring history to life with stories that bridge past and present, honoring not just the facts but the people who lived them.

Our Journey Begins with Jack’s Story

Jack’s Story: 7th Armored Division Tank Commander World War II

Our debut book offers a vivid account of John’s father, Jack Wilson — a young tank commander who survived the Battle of the Bulge and helped stall the German advance at St. Vith. Drawing on over 100 wartime letters and personal recollections written in 1995, we meticulously validated the timeline with historical combat records.

It’s more than a war story.
It’s a son’s tribute.
A generation’s sacrifice.
A legacy preserved.
